The Summit County Utah Sheriff’s Office serves a community of nearly 40,000 (2014 census) people and has a sworn officer strength of nearly 100 deputies. Often during peak tourist times of the year, Summit County ’s population can swell to double or triple its regular size with visitors.

The Patrol Division consists of The Patrol Division, The Motor Unit, and the K9 Unit. The Patrol Division conducts duties around the clock to ensure safety and service to the community. The Motor Unit routinely conducts operations during “peak” traffic hours, and handles local complaints and traffic studies.

The Patrol Division also handles special events planning and staffing for over 150 special events each year. Summit County is host to several international events such as: The Sundance Film Festival, The Tour of Utah, Ragnar Relay Series, and several other major events.

The Patrol Division is currently commanded by Lieutenant Jeremie Forman – jforman@summitcounty.org
