Captain David Booth

Captain David D. Booth is a Utah native, born and raised in the Utah County area. He began his career in 1989 as a Police Cadet with the Orem City Police Department. In January of 2003 Sheriff David A. Edmunds hired Captain Booth to serve as a part of his command staff. Captain Booth has 21 years of law enforcement experience. He has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, school resource officer and first line supervisor. Special assignments held have been; narcotics, gang enforcement, bicycle patrol, S.W.A.T. and hostage negotiator.

Captain Booth is currently in charge of the Law Enforcement Operations Bureau which consists of the Patrol Division, Major Crimes Division, Investigations Division, Special Events/Dignitary Protection and Internal Affairs. This bureau is comprised of 49 full and part time employees with a $4,970,092.00 annual operating budget.
